Active Childcare at Milwaukee Yard is a licensed, full service daycare and preschool located inside a 101,000+ square foot indoor sports complex at 7727 S. Longwater Drive in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.
We accept children from 6 weeks old through Pre-K (approximately age 6) and operate Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
Our facility includes dedicated classrooms for 5 age groups: Infant Care (6 weeks to 15 months), Toddler Care (15 months to 2 years), Two-Year-Old Care (2 to 3 years), Preschool (3 to 4 years), and Pre-Kindergarten (4 to 6 years).
Every classroom incorporates age appropriate curriculum including science, literacy, music, art, sensory play, and dramatic play.

Children have daily access to a 5 level indoor play structure, a large inflatables area, 3 indoor turf fields totaling over 100 yards of play space, and outdoor playgrounds with equipment for every age. Teacher-to-child ratios vary by age group and are mandated by DCF 251.055. Infant and Toddler rooms have a teacher ratio of 1:4. Two-Year-Old classroom has a teacher ratio of 1:7. Preschool classrooms have a teacher ratio of either 1:8 or 1:10. Pre-K classrooms have a teacher ratio of 1:10 or 1:13.
Active Childcare rates vary by age group. Infant care starts at $273 for 2 days. Toddler care starts at $262 for 2 days. Two-Year-Old care starts at $250 for 2 days. Preschool and Pre-K care starts at $237 for 2 days.
Yes. We offer options for 2 days, 3 days, or 5 days per week care.
Yes. All teachers are CPR/First Aid certified.
Yes. All teachers are required to complete a fingerprint-based criminal background check through the Department of Children and Families (DCF) before starting work. Updated fingerprint checks are required every 5 years, consistent with DCF mandates and Wisconsin Statute 48.686.
For Active Childcare we provide breakfast at 9 AM, lunch at 12 PM, and a snack at 3 PM. Food is included in pricing.
We use The Creative Curriculum which is a comprehensive, research-based program. This play-based learning approach fosters early childhood development through hands-on exploration. It emphasizes the growth of social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and language skills by providing a stimulating environment with diverse activities tailored to individual interests and abilities, essentially promoting “learning by doing” through play, art, stories, and outdoor experiences. The daily schedule is different for all age groups but consists of play time and socialization in our 5 level play structure, organized activities on our soccer fields, daily outdoor time, a morning meeting with teacher-led circle time, nap time or quiet activities, and educational activities that include science experiments, arts and crafts, journaling, and learning new math concepts.
All classrooms have two designated outdoor periods of 30 minutes each, weather permitting. One in the morning before lunch and one after snack. Children utilize the indoor turf fields and 5 level play tower when weather inhibits outdoor play.
We use Brightwheel for all parent updates. This includes providing diaper changes, meal times, writing daily notes, sharing pictures, and messaging between teachers and parents.
